End of Course Children’s Tournament
Last Sunday, June 18, we enjoyed a great tournament played by our little champions, the children of Golf Ibiza golf school. A total of forty children, in their different categories, made the Ibiza Golf course their own on Sunday morning. During the rounds, there was a lot of laughter, fun and the desire to be classified as they enjoyed this great tournament.
Our young golfers participated in a stableford game and in four different categories. They put into practice everything they had learnt during their lessons with the teacher David Alvarez in this fun and exciting sport. During their golf lessons, the children have discovered the values of sportsmanship, enthusiasm, persistence, friendship and self-improvement.
At 13:30 all the participating children in the tournament finished their rounds on the golf course to enjoy great hot and cold snacks and drinks.
The Children’s Tournament Qualifiers
The awards ceremony took place on the terrace of the 19th Hole Restaurant from two o’clock in the afternoon. The trophies were awarded to the top three in each category, and there were a Golf Ibiza cap and a pencil case for all the participating children.
In the 18-hole category the winners were Ignacio Oteo, followed by Maxwell Iveson and Victoria Huerta; In the 9-hole category the winner was Tiziano Eduardo Moroni, ahead of Angel Bermejo and Javier Bermejo; and in the 3-hole category the winner was Maria Buijs, followed by Leo Sandwald and Nicol Santin. Finally, in the special category for children under 7, the champion putter was Lea Beck, while Cédar Garcia was the champion in chip and run, and Xicu Gisbert, in the driver section.
In addition to a great happy ending and the giving of the gifts to all the children participating, there were many more surprises during Sunday’s children’s golf, such as the visit of Ollie, azuLine Hotels mascot, who arrived at the golf course loaded with sweets for the children.
The Children’s Golf Tournament was a good closing to the magnificent management of the Children’s Golf School led by David Álvarez, and now a new stage beginning will open under the management of Golf Ibiza by azuLinehotels.
