Are you constantly talking about golf with your friends and would you like to invite a special friend to play golf with you? Golf Ibiza is making this happen with a very special tournament. On Saturday, July 21st Golf Ibiza will be helding the first ever Friends Cup which will be played by a golfer and a friend. This fun new tournament gives our golfers the chance to introduce this exciting sport to a friend or family member.

The classes of the Ibiza Golf Summer Academy will be taught for 8 independent weeks, with the possibility of monthly registration. Golf lessons that will be coordinated by our teachers at the Golf Academy Ibiza and will have a free time monitor.

On Saturday, June 23rd Golf Ibiza held the Children’s Academy School Year End Tournament at Golf Ibiza. It was a fun day with all the young ones giving their best swing. It was a great opportunity for the children of Golf Ibiza’s Children’s Academy to learn new golfing skills along with learning the true values of friendship and sportsmanship in a unique environment in Ibiza.

On Saturday, June 16, the first Ibiza Sotheby’s International Realty Tournament was held at Golf Ibiza. The shotgun was heard at 1:30 p.m. followed by the beginning of the tournament which was held for the first time ever in Ibiza. More than 30 golfers from different parts of the world congregated in the 18 holes of Golf Ibiza last Saturday, filling the competition in the golf course with great atmosphere and sportsmanship.

The “fade” is a golf shot in which the ball acquires a gentle effect to the right when lowering. The ball has to go to the left of the target and finish at our objective through this small effect from left to right. Unlike a “slice”, it is a controlled shot that is provoked in order to reach our goal. The slice is a failed shot with a lot of curve to the right and that crosses the line of play.

On Sunday, May 20th, the third tournament of the Balear 2018 Circuit of the 24th World Amateur Golfers Championship, organized by SOFT LINE, was held at Golf Ibiza. Circuit of 14 tournaments, whose final of the Balearic Circuit will be held on August 11th in the field of Pula Golf, Mallorca.

On Saturday, May 19th the First Trial of the 1st Hexagonal Autovidal Circuit 2018 organized by the Balearic Golf Federation took place at Golf Ibiza’s 18 holes course. The shotgun announced the beginning of the exciting tournament and 132 golfers.

The rolled chip is a shot that is used very close to the green. It consists in making the ball fly over the part that is not the green and then roll over the green until it reaches the hole. We could also use the putt in this case, but the rolled chip prevents us from having bad bounces and also stops unexpected acceleration and deceleration of the ball.  Thanks to this technique, we have better control of the distances and more consistency with our shots.

Golf Ibiza’s “Roca Llisa” course was taken over for the first time by players enrolled in the 1st Golf Lessons for Beginners at Golf Ibiza.  On Sunday, April 29, the 1st Hándicap 36 Golf Ibiza – FBG Tournament took place at Golf Ibiza.

To get a good alignment the first thing is to come behind the ball and focus well by taking a line in front of the ball. With the club we mark a point in front of the ball and this helps us to align ourselves.

On Abril 14th and 15th, Golf Ibiza’s second Open Doors event took place at Golf Ibiza. It was a fabulous opportunity to welcome new players and show them our facilities while teaching them how to play golf during an exciting free golf lesson for beginners.

Golf Ibiza held on April 7th and 8th the II Prueba del Circuito Senior 2018 by the Balears Golf Federation – sponsored by SOFT LINE. The tournament is held 5 times a year throughout different golf camps in the Balearic Islands and the 4 best results automatically enter the Balear ranking.

On March 10th and 11th, the 18-hole golf course will remain closed from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM during the III Prueba del Circuito Juvenil + II Puntuable Zonal, organized by the Federación Balear de Golf.

Last Saturday, February 24, the II Kids Carnival Tournament 2018 took place at Golf Ibiza. Our younger golfers from the Children’s Academy took to the “Roca Llisa” course to play the 9 holes, but this time dressed in their wonderful Carnival costumes.

Carnival has arrived bringing lots of fun surprises for the little ones! This upcoming Saturday, February 24, we’ll be hosting our 2nd Kid’s Carnival Tournament at Golf Ibiza followed by an appetizer and special prize for the best costumes.
